The power of a customer survey is in asking the right questions!
Ryan Levesque states that the “micro commitment bucket survey” is a staple in his funnel building process every single time. Part of the process he admits are very elementary. The bucket can be separating the audience into something as simple as gender, male for female. It can be age brackets or interests but the interests or the “WHY” they are motivated to buy answers are given in the next part of the system. Micro commitment really comes into play when surveying the audience and asking the questions in multiple choice format, only one question at a time over a period of time, rather than a long survey all at once.
Micro Commitment in a Web Survey Is Important
Break the survey down as smaller steps of micro commitment. It is less intrusive and bothersome for your audience. It makes them feel like they have the opportunity to help you improve your brand, products or offerings, like: 24 hour support or free shipping on returns or a better bonus that would prefer to see in the launch.
Sample Survey Questions:
- What holds people back from making a buying decision?
- What questions do you not do a good job of answering?
- What goals exist in your marketing?
These types of customer survey questions can be answered in the third survey that Ryan Levesque created called “do you hate me?” The “do you hate me” is something that stems from an emotionally charged place to get the point across and to make the question less direct than specifically saying to your email list “why didn’t you buy?” It does the trick… The idea is that not only will the “do you hate me” work as a good subject line but it also allows for the user’s attention even if you let them know in parenthesis (naturally I am only kidding). Here are all four of the survey questions examples from Ryan Levesque’s “Survey Funnel” Playbook:
